Good Carbohydrates vs Bad Carbohydrates

Is it helpful to think in terms of good and bad carbohydrates?

Why not think about how foods make you feel?

If you ask me, I will tell you that I get ill if I eat wheat products, but they can be delicious and safe for other people. Do bear in mind that some doctors believe that all wheat products cause leaky gut, and recommend avoiding them, and I advise you against eating wheat if you have any sort of irritable bowel, or an inflammatory disease such as arthritis, or an autoimmune disease such as thyroid.

To me candy/sweets contain the worst sort of carbohydrates. They rot your teeth. They raise your blood sugar and insulin. They are implicated in inflammation, diabetes, infections and amputations. They give me an afternoon slump so I don’t eat them anymore

The foods that contain good carbohydrates shown in the picture include puy lentils, tomatoes, onions, and black beans- they all contain starches and sugars of a non refined variety, so do not lead to a rapid rise in your blood sugar. In the background you can see a box of milk chocolates –full of refined sugar and not on my list! Occasionally, I will have dark chocolate though- the sort that is 70% or more cocoa solids and that is a lot better.
